Xiaomi YU7 Design: Sleek, Smart and Futuristic
Front Profile
Xiaomi gives almond shaped headlamps in their YU7. This is the traditional Xiaomi design. Here, we also got plus shaped day time running lights. There are little air inlets as well as air outlets in front and top of the bonnet to improves the aerodynamic. This car actually look very live & athletic.
Xiaomi have done a good gob with the proportions of YU7. We can see the pretty massive bonnet here and that’s because we have got a frunk underneath. A little bit shorter than the 230mm that we get on Zika 7X, but never-the-less quite a useful amount of ride height on this car. So it does look very low. It looks very compact. Despite that, it’s actually just a smidge under 5 m long. It is a lot bigger than we think it is. But in real life it looks small.
Alloys: In this Xiaomi YU7 car we get a choice of six different alloys, here we have 21inches alloy on max version. we can also get 19-20 inches alloys in lower versions. These are pretty meaty. In this car we can also get Michelin or Handcook tires.
Rear Profile
Xiaomi YU7 looks sporty from back. YU7 have a big spoiler at the top, little duct, tail spoiler both of these are made up of carbon fibers. There is a back camera and a fake diffuser down there and rear wiper absent there.
Like front we can open the boot either with button or by app on your phone or by commanding voice assistant. In this car we got 678L rear boot space. Here are two little switches to fold rear seats so this a more spacious sporty car. There is a magnetic rail just inside the top of the boot. We get lather on the top of dashboard and there are also carbon fiber. We get microfiber in doors and on ceiling. Plastic is used only inside the door pockets. It’s outside even cover with lather. So it feel like a very premium interior. This car offer four different colors.
Steering: YU7 provide sporty steering wheel, which covers with lather. Nappa Lather used in seats. We get heated-ventilated steering wheel. It contain Drive modes button.
Front Seats: Xiaomi give ventilated-heated seats with massage. Here we can also get zero gravity front seats. Fronts seats also have sleep mode in which seat started recline, which is controlled from infotainment screen.
Infotainment system
Xiaomi provides a 16.3inches 3k infotainment system in the middle. This big clear screen runs on the Hyper OS operating system. We get a kind of car features here with digital assistant. This screen have three big tiles, we can simply drag them out to make it the full screen, below screen we also get switches and AC vents with Tri-zone climate control. There is also heads-up display which is controlled by main screen.
Music System: This car also have a 14 or 25 speakers sound system. 25 as standard on the max version, including one in each of from two headrests. Speakers have metal grates so it look good.
There is a 80watt wireless charger, USB sockets, in-built walkie-talkie, two cup holders, umbrellas on drivers door, magnetic mounting points to mount dash-cam, and a big glove box which is password protected. Xiaomi YU7 has a huge glass roof (1.7square meters). It is silver colored triple layer silver coated, which can prevent up-to 99% of sunlight.
Rear Seats
There is a plenty of leg room/knee room. Base cushion of rear seats are quite high with good thigh support. Xiaomi claims 73mm knee room. In back we get a 5.3L drawer, 4.7L fridge, USB type-C charging sockets, a detachable screen by which we can control heating, ventilation, music, navigation of rear seat.
There are mounting points on the back of the front seat to stick tablet, phones, armrest, two cup holders. We also get a electronic back rest angle adjustments, so we can go back as far as 135degrees. There is totally flat floor.
Power & Performance
Xiaomi YU7 launched three different versions. Standard, Pro, Max Version. The base version which is called standard is a single motor version 235Kw of power on the rear axle and it produce 528NM torque & 315hP, which is pretty decent for a single motor car. In this version YU7 goes 0-100 in just 5.88 seconds.
If we go for a pro version of this car, we get an additional motor of 130 Kw on the front axle, so 365Kw total. That produce 690NM torque and 489 HP. It will go 0-100 in just 4.89 seconds.
On max version we got 508KW in both front & rear axle and it produce 866NM torque & 680hP. So it will go 0-100 in just 3.23 seconds.
Battery, Charging & Range
Xiaomi offers two battery options on their YU7 model :
96.3KWh Lithium-Iron Phosphate (LFP blade-type) battery used in standard and pro versions of YU7. This will provide range of 725-820 Km(519mile) depending on trim. It take 21 minutes to charge 10-80%. Its energy consumption is 13.3Kwh/100 km.
101.7KWh Lithium‑Nickel‑Manganese‑Cobalt (Li‑NMC) battery used in Max variant of YU7. This will provide range of 760Km (472mile). It takes 12 minutes to charge 10-80%. Its energy consumption is 14.9KWh/100 Km. It’s peak charge is 250Kw. So its peak charging rate is 5.2C.
