MG M9 EV Interior And Comfort

In this car MG offers Ultra luxurious cabin for the customers who needs only comfort.

Front Row

In MG M9 Electric we get a steering wheel mounted with audio controls, two little toggle switches. It is easy to operate and feel quite nice as well in terms of the feel and tactile feel. We have got the drive selector on the  stock here on the right hand side same as Mercedes offers. And we have the the rest of the combination, a single stock here for the wipers and head light controls. The headlight controls through that is basically for high beam and we know flash to pass.

But if we want to switch them on or move them out from a mode like say auto mode, we have got to do that through the touch screen. And there is also touch surface controls for AC which looks so cool. There is a nice 12.3inches touchscreen, which is sharp and has clear graphics. Besides the touch screen there are lots of screen around the car too. seats are very nice and comfortable too. These seats are powered, heated, ventilated, and have a massage function too.

Middle Row Features

These are the seats that we pay those big buck for, and MG has done lots to make us feel that our money has been well spent. Now features wise, we get one sunroof up-front, but this section of the cabin gets its own panoramic sunroof. Then we have a dedicated zone for the climate control system. There’s a rear entertainment screen, although we have not found the mirroring function all that nice to use. Here we have the option to connect our devices via an HDMI port and USB port. In this car we get manual sunshades, which is actually a negative point in this car at this price range.

This is an MPV So of-course practicality has to be given its due and importance and MG has done that. So we got a bottle holders on the doors, nice storage for mobile. Besides the seats, there is a power point which is very handly on the go. We can can plug in our laptop or other devices. And there’s also a large tray that open up from under the centre of console. We also get a foldout cupholder over here. And armrest opens up for same storage. There’s a USB port and  a type-c port. We get a tissue box, but don’t get a retractable tray, which is something that we had expect in an MPV of this  price point.

Seats

Now onto the seats, these are really large seats, very well cushioned, well padded and very well upholstered as well. There’s a suede finish, too which is keeping with this MPV’s price and positioning. Even the roof lining feels really rich. Now the seats are not only about the look and feel, but also what they can do. This is the boss seat. There is a screen at armrest. we can have it concealed. But when we open it up, we will find there’s actually lots that you can control. So  there is a ventilation for these seats. There is heating as well as eight massage functions. And the massage functions works really well.

Then we get to the matter  of seat adjustment and there are lots and no manual adjustments here. Everything is powered and everything is controlled via this screen. During  harsh sunlight we can’t se much things in screen so a detachable unit would have been a lot more user friendly. There is power adjust for the back rest, headrest, and lumber support. There is also a powered slide. we can also open for one touch operation. Pushing it to extend mode will have the seat roll towards the centre. It will go all the bay back. The leg rest will come out.

Third Row

We have to make our way to third row via the passage between the middle chairs. There is a width for three passengers at the back, but there is no dedicated headrest for the middle seat passenger. And there is also no fold down armrest also, which would expect in a vehicle of this price. Now other amenities, we get roof mounted air conditioning vents. There is a phone holder, cup holder, USB port but not sunshades for these nice and large back windows.

Boot Space/ Luggage space in MG M9 EV

The boot space available in the MG M9 EV is quite impressive. Even with the third row seats in place, it offers a boot capacity of 945 L, which is enough for standard luggage and travel bags. If you fold the third row completely and slide it forward, the boot space increases to around 1,720 L, which is comfortably enough to accommodate large luggage, cabin bags or holiday luggage. Additionally, it also features a 55-litre frunk at the front, which is useful for storing additional small luggage or electronic devices

Specifications and Range/Milage Of MG M9 Electric MPV

  • Power- 245HP
  • Torque-350NM
  • Battery Capacity-90kwh

The MG M9 is powered by a 245HP motor, 350NM of torque and that is fed by a 90kwh battery. The MG M9 EV is equipped with a powerful 90kWh-over battery, through which the company claims a driving range of up to 548 km, which can be achieved in ideal range. When driven on Indian roads and normal driving conditions like traffic, highway riding, with AC usage and full ride, the car was able to give an actual range of around 300 to 350 km. This means that this electric MPV can prove to be a reliable option for everyday needs and weekend trips, where you get a comfortable travel experience without worrying about the battery.

Performance of MG M9 Electric MPV

It is really nice and measured  and relaxed. Just it because its all electric doesn’t mean it needs to dump all its torque at the get-go. For a car that’s all about luxury. In MG M9 we got drive modes like-  eco, normal and sport. But even in sport the power, like right now, it moves quickly, but smartly it doesn’t  really dump all of that power in mad rush. So, it is calibrated really nicely, and that’s what we want really from a luxury MPV. So it’s just nice and perfectly calibrated for driving around the city as well as highways. We can keep up with the traffic and should we need to  get move on or overtake some slow moving  traffic even in eco mode. So, if we were to we in eco mode and have to pull off on overtaking move, we could do so quite safely.

The steering as well as the brakes are also adjustable. Being an EV, we also have brake energy recuperation levels which we can set here and that’s always nice to have.
